Chris Pratt Faith 2026: 'The Most Important Thing' He Will Pass to His Children

Chris Pratt speaking about his Christian faith and fatherhood in 2026
Chris Pratt told Fox News that his faith is "the most important thing" he will pass on to his four children — how he starts and ends every day.

"It's the most important thing that I'll be able to pass on to my kids." In Hollywood, where faith is usually whispered, Chris Pratt just said the loud part out loud — and he said it twice, once at the start of his day and once at the end.

The 47-year-old actor made the remarks in a new interview with Fox News Digital, given ahead of the season 2 premiere of "The Terminal List" on October 21. Asked about raising four children while keeping his Christian faith front and center, Pratt didn't hedge.

"Oh, God, you know, I'm for the most part, I'm always gonna be a man of faith," Pratt said. "My faith is how I start my day, it's how I end my day. It's the most important thing that I'll be able to pass on to my kids."

Chris Pratt faith children what did he say

Pratt spoke like a father first and a movie star second. "It's an incredible blessing to be a father. It's also a lot of hard work," he said.

"And so I think I just want to teach them that… I don't know, I want to do my best. I basically want to get right everything my dad got right and get right everything my dad got wrong. And I'm sure I'll screw up both, you know?"

It was honest, self-aware, and completely free of the polish celebrities usually bring to these conversations.

Pratt has been married to author Katherine Schwarzenegger — the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver — since 2019. The couple shares three children: daughters Lyla Maria, born in August 2020, and Eloise Christina, born in May 2022, along with their son Ford Fitzgerald, born in November 2024. Pratt is also father to 14-year-old Jack, his son with ex-wife Anna Faris.

Chris Pratt Vatican documentary Pope Leo St Peter tomb

The Fox News interview is only half the story. Days earlier, on October 21, Variety reported that Pratt had filmed a Vatican documentary with Pope Leo — using IMAX drone cameras to explore the tomb of St. Peter beneath the basilica.

"It was really profound to be encountering the remains of one of Jesus' apostles," he said. Narrating the documentary, titled "Pétros Ení: Discovering the Origins," helped redefine his Catholic faith. Few actors get to stand where Peter was buried; fewer still talk about what it did to them after the footage was recieved.

Pratt has been open about his faith for years. Earlier in 2026, on the TODAY show, host Craig Melvin asked how his Instagram bio — "God first, grateful to be here" — had guided him through Hollywood, "a place not always known for its faith." Pratt's answer was pure Pratt: "It is what it is, man. I got a belief and I go with it, and for the most part, it's been amazing."

He quoted Christine Caine that day: "If the light that shines upon you is greater than the light that's within you, then the light that shines upon you will kill you."

Then he explained what faith does for him in an industry that chews people up: "For me, it's really grounding, man — good for me, good for my family, good for my wife, good for my life."

He is not the only public figure finding that grounding in 2026. Russell Brand told Hannity that faith in Jesus keeps him sober after 22 years, and ex-Satanist comedian Shayne Smith says faith brought him fulfillment, not an easier life — different roads, same destination.

Is Chris Pratt Catholic 2026

Pratt has described himself in Catholic terms around the Vatican documentary, and his public language — Mass, the apostles, St. Peter's tomb — sits comfortably in that tradition. What matters more than the label is the pattern: this is a man who keeps choosing to talk about God when his publicist would probably prefer he talk about the show.

That pattern puts him in interesting company. Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in The Chosen, has spoken openly about what Christ's return would mean — another actor letting faith shape the interview instead of the other way around.

For Pratt, though, the audience that matters most is at home. Four kids, ages 14 down to not-yet-two.

A father trying to get right what his own dad got right, and fix what he got wrong. The cameras, the premieres, the Vatican drones — all of that fades next to the line he actually wanted on the record.

The most important thing he'll pass on isn't a franchise or a fortune. It's the faith he starts and ends his day with. And somewhere in that house, four children are watching a father live it — which, as any parent knows, is the only sermon that really lands.
